I am a girl mum to two beautiful daughters, and my son was born in November 2022. My eldest is 4 years old, her sister is 2 years old, and my son is 1 year old.

we live in a little town called Paisley in Ontario where I own and run All Bodies Pilates + Wellness Studio.

Here’s my story…

I'm Chelsea, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist from Toronto, Canada.

I became an R.H.N. after battling a severe eating disorder for 17 years. I continued my education with Health Sciences and my Masters of Science in Personalised Nutrition while nurturing extreme disordered eating.

In 2018 I became a Certified Reformer Pilates Instructor, as well as a Certified TRX Instructor and began focusing more on teaching classes for Pilates and TRX and taking a bit of a step back from nutrition consultations.

I became a mum to my eldest daughter E in 2019 and was overjoyed (and overwhelmed by motherhood). I found there were so many things that no one had warned me about (both positive and negative), but most of all, I found that I didn’t know myself at all anymore.

My body was different. It craved different foods. It sagged in different places. It was soft in areas that were once firm, and firm in areas that were once soft (hello, breastfeeding!).

I wanted to know everything I could about foods to help my body thrive, but found a huge amount of generalised information, and nothing that was specifically helpful to me, especially with my body image issues and previous history with eating disorders and disordered eating.

March 2020 came along and while E was just about to turn 9 months old, Toronto (and the world!) entered a pandemic and shut down. All of a sudden I was dealing with different stressors, on top of Motherhood!

I found shame and guilt in my new body. Mum guilt coming in strong because I couldn’t do all of the wonderful things I had planned with my daughter due to the safety of our health. I had mental trauma from my rocky history with eating disorders and disordered eating rearing it’s ugly head again.

I was caught so tightly between wanting to lose weight + feed my daughter the most nutrient-dense breastmilk.

Little did I know, I was actually craving positive body image, gut repair and food freedom.

No one mentioned it. In nine whole months, not one person said, “you’re about to meet someone entirely new. And it’s not your baby, it’s going to be Y O U”
