the one where: I’m back!

Well, hello hello!

For those of you that are new here (and to me, in general), hi! I’m Chelsea and I actually created a blog at the beginning of 2013 when I first launched my website and virtual nutrition business!

I actually continued blogging, weekly, for many years — creating a sharing recipes, travel info, skincare reviews and recommendations… you name it, I blogged it! I mean, until I stopped in 2018.

Now, you may be wondering, “why did you stop?!”. Well, a couple reasons, actually.

2018 was a really busy year. For those that aren’t aware, at the end of 2012 I moved to Dubai, UAE and lived there until 2017 when I moved to Nova Scotia. I was working at an incredible clinic in NS and truly loved my time there, but always felt like there was something more.

While I was in Dubai, I found my love for Reformer Pilates, and in 2018 I decided that I wanted to get my certification! That was a huge undertaking, as I was going to do it in Dubai in 30 days, 3 certifications for reformer… yah.

So! I had to get a bunch of hours in, and signed off by instructors, before i left for Dubai, in order to make the most of my 30 days of training. Now, this might not seem that crazy for someone living in the GTA, but I was living in Wolfville Nova Scotia! One person taught reformer pilates in Wolfville and she had extremely limited availability. There was one studio in Halifax (an hour away from me in Wolfville), and I would book back-to-back classes to maximise my hour drive there and back!

Needless to say, I got everything signed off and I was on my way to Dubai! I spent 30 days training. Whether it was taking classes, learning movements, routines and history, or doing homework — I was in training 15 hours a day, 6 days a week and we got it all done!

After Dubai I flew back to Toronto (where I’m from), and decided to pursue some interviews for pilates instructor to see if I could get a job, and I did!

Within a matter of weeks I had bought a car to pick up in Ontario, packed up as much as I could from NS and flew back to Toronto to start a life here.

Now, stay with me, because this is all relevant, I promise!

I started working at two pilates studios and decided to put my nutrition business on the back burner, which is when I stopped blogging!

I was too busy and focused on the other area of my life that was totally in-person and non-nutrition related, that I let go of this part.

BUT I’M BACK!

Don’t get me wrong. This blog will be nothing like my previous, so if you’ve been with me for a while, you might be to adjust your expectations!

I’m now a mum of two (with a third on the way), and my focus and passion is 100% nutrition AND Pilates (and TRX).

You can expect all kinds of things from this blog, and this week we’re going to dive into my gut overhaul protocol (has a nice ring to it, right??).

____________

If you follow me on instagram, you might be aware that I have had quite the sick-filled pregnancy so far! Not with pregnancy symptoms, but with everything else my kids and husband and so-and-so-at-the-supermarket passes along to me. Seriously. The sheer amount of sickness has been incredible.

With that said, I’ve had to be on a couple round of antibiotics and NSAIDs, which means my gut needed an overhaul… BIG time!

I’ll be sharing some tips and tricks along the way. Supplements and food sources for optimising my good gut bugs as well as decreasing or “keeping at bay” my naughty gut bugs!

Thanks so much for tuning in! Can’t wait to share more here with you all!
